St Ives Surf Lifesaving Club has been at the heart of our community for years, helping our children build confidence in the water, develop essential lifesaving skills, and be part of a fantastic local club.
Since losing their first club house on Porthmeor Beach finding a permanent base, has been a challenge.

This March I was delighted to officially hand over the keys to their new home at the former Porthmeor Bowling Clubhouse. Vacated by the bowling club a year ago it is fitting to now being put to great use by another valued community sports club.
This move is one part of the wider devolution project, which is transferring land and buildings from Cornwall Council to St Ives Town Council, helping to protect our local assets for community use. It’s fantastic to see this process working in a way that benefits local people.
